Sinton Spence Chartered Accountants (SSCA) was established in November 1987 by James Sinton Spence (the Principal and Founder). The firm experienced steady growth since inception. The service offerings range from accounting, audit and assurance, business and financial advisory, insolvency, statutory compliance, and taxation services. Now, SSCA is known as Papua New Guinea’s largest independent firm.
The Principal, James Sinton Spence, was born and initially educated in Ireland. He graduated from the University of Aston in Birmingham, England with honours degree in Administrative Science. He was admitted as an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) in 1980 while employed by KPMG.
He came to Papua New Guinea in May 1983 worked with Coopers and Lybrand (currently
PwC), primarily to develop their insolvency department. He then spent three years as
Chief Accountant with Baulderstone Hornibrook, at the time Papua New Guinea’s largest
construction company. He then founded SSCA and commenced the practise.
